Classrooms participating in LTP at each of these five schools will have access to Philadelphia-based Teaching Artists during the semester for writing, poetry and visual art activities related to their classroom projects. The teaching artists, nominated by local arts and cultural organizations include:

Sandra Andino, photographer, teaching artist and director of education at Taller Puertorriqueño

Angelita Hogan, award-winning writer and artist at Art Sanctuary

JoEllen Hutchinson, teaching artist and poet at Al Bustan Seeds of Culture

Julia Katz-Terry, writer, educator and director of “Art of Growing up” at the Arts and Spirituality Center

Trapeta Mayson, Pew Fellow and Leeway Foundation award-winning poet and teaching artist.
